c Our correspondent wires last night :—: — f To-day was observed as a close holiday. r The weather was splendid for regatta, - and for the excursions and pic-nics, f which went in every direction. In c trading vessels race, Transit was first and • Torea second. Cutter Race : Rangatira, c Ist. In yacht race, Keesing's new yacht, s Toroa, was leading, but the mast was 1 carried away and Rita, yacht, built by' - Bailey and owned by Henderson, won ; c Wynona being second. Tawhiao was on ? board the flagship, watching the races, '■ Mr Sheehan, M.H.R., acted as chaI perone.
