Ohmstchueoh, yesterday.-— Our correspondent wires : — The match between the English cricketers and Canterbury commenced to-day at four o'clock. The English had made 130 with only one wicket down, namely, Ulyett, with a score of 50. Bates was 20, and Barlow 48, not out.
An 'Association -wire reports : — The second Christchurch match commenced to-day. The English went in first. Wicket dead. Scores are: L/lyett, 59; Barlow,,- > 77.'; Selby, 1 y .Bates, \ 32 ; 'Shrewsßttry, .18 j -Midwinter, npt out, i8 ; Swtton, 9 \ extea^, 4. : ? 808.'
