At a sitting of the R.M. Court held on Thursday— Messrs A. Kay and E. Parsons, J.Ps. presiding — The following business was disposed of : — Wood v. Devin. Mr Gresham for plaintiff and Mr Speed for defendant, who is proprietor of the Commercial Hotel. The claim was for 47 weeks wages at 8s per week, and 8s in lieu of a week's notice, amounting in all to £19 4s. Plaintiff's evidence was to the effect that he had been engaged by defendent as gardener and general servant at the rate of wages stated above, besides found, and that he had been paid nothing since February last. ■While in the service?. witness had hurt himself When defendant discharged him.
