A Reuters telegram, dated London, ISth inst., reports : — The Irish Land , Commission are now deciding upon appeals by landlords against the decision of the Land Court. So far the findings of , the Chief Commissioners have confirmed reductions made in rents. , Vernon has, ' however, dissented from the opinions" of , his colleagues. In the City of Cork there is a very excited feeling manifested.- The city is practically under military control j sentries being placed in the streets* and all passers-by subjected to challenge. The i utmost precautions are considered neces1 sary to prevent disturbance. > A steamer, which arrived in Liverpool 1 from New Orleans, reports that much damage was occasioned to the vessel by the explosion of an infernal machine. ' The outrage is attributed to Fenian agency, and a strict investigation is being held into the circumstances.
