Oxford Murder. — Mikaere Te Papa and Peina Te Kere were again charged with the manslaughter of Hoani Te Kere at Okoroiri on Boxing Day.— Mr J. Beale, on behalf of accused applied to have the case further adjourned till Monday next, also for an enlargement of the bail in the meantime. — Applica% tion granted. __ fi Civil Casks. — Kelly v. Barter': Claim for £13 Os 2d, goods sold and delivered. Mr Beale for plaintiff and Mr Speed for defendant. The latter filed a set-off, paying a balance into Court. Judgment for Is 4d in excess of amount deposited, each party to pay his own costs. — Hay v. Kelly : Claim for £18 5s lid, goods sold and delivered. Mr Beale for plaintiff and Mr Speed for defendant. Judgment for £6 6s sd, and costs £3 356d. -Sheath v. Gwynneth: Claim for £18 ss. This was a claim for wages alleged to be due for work performed by plaintiff when in the service of defendant as surveyor's labourer and cadet. Mr Beale for plaintiff, and Mr Speed for defendant. Defendant paid into Court £4 4s 6d. A great deal of evidence was adduced on both sides which showed the dispute originated through their being no understanding between the parties prior to the plaintiff commencing work. Judgment was given for £12 15s ; each party to pay his own costs.
