Dunedix.— Our correspondent wires : — In the Supreme Cjourt to-day (Wednesday), the case Massey v. Allen, in which the ex-town clerk claims £2500 damages for alleged libel, is being heard. Timartj. — Our correspondent last night wired :— A one day's cricket match between the Englishmen and a local twenty-two was commeucecl to-day. The local team went in first and were all disposed of for 111 runs. New Plymouth.— Our correspondent wires : — Elizabeth Hodges, who attempted to commit suicide by running into the sea from the beach to-day (Wednesday), was rescued with difficulty. — A tangi is being held in memory of the great \Vaitara chief William King, who died at the age of 90.
