Opunake, yesterday. — Ouv correspondent wires :— Two old abandoned stations (Ngakumikumi and Kaikaha) are to be occupied by the constabulary for roadmaking, and to facilitate settlement on the lands being opened.

Puxuakehu, yesterday. -"-An Association wire reports : — No. 4 Company have been transferred to' Ngalunnikumi, and No 1 to Apu, about four miles this side of Opunake. The band has also gone to Apu. Work on the road is progressing favorably. The road is to be commenced at Ngakumikurni through to Stratford. The constabulary are leaving the force at the rate of 15 or 20 per mouth.
