Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Report.— At the Hayraarket on Dec. 20 hay was in short supply, and brought from 18s to 225; straw, 12s .0 igs per load. I here were a large number of lorses yarded, consisting principally of light larness horses and hacks, which brought from L 6 to Ll4 ; and medium draughts, Ll6 to L 26. The m-ijority of the lots entered were disposed of at fair prices. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy "attic wero in limited number, and lato values. •^tore cattle wero dull of sale. Fat cattle were in istial number, but many wero of -nfenor qu;ilit\. The improvement in price noted List week was sustained, and best quality steady steady at 23s to 2Ss the loolbs. Store sheep were in good supply and brisk inquiry. Fat sheep were also yarded in full numbers, and for light weights an advance of is per head was obtained. Lambs were plentiful, but in brisk inquiry— many pens bringing from 18s to 22s 6d each. Fat ralves were also numerous, but maintained their late values. Pigs of good quality were unusually numerous, and met with a steady demand. Mfssrs. Hunt i'R & Nolans Weekly Report. —Horses : The supply ha* been large, but the demand has continued brisk — for animals of a. good stamp there was an upward tendency. The Ourlntn Yards were filled on Friday last, the diafts, from Hawera and Waitar.i attracting ronsiderable attention and the prices realized ■•carhed the expectation of vendors. Hacks sold it L 6 ios to Ll6 15s ; light -harness horses, from Ll4 ios to L2O ; spring-cart horses, £19 to L 27 10s. No he.ivj -draught were disposed of. Cattle : Oiu-tncbs lias characterised the maiket. The supply has been smallei than usual, but a steady demand has existed, aud prices for fat stock had an upward tendency. '1 he Newmarket sale was held at 11 .1 m. on Tuesday, with but a small muster of stock. Buyers were 111 attendance. Competition ivas spirited, and fat beasts sold at from 20s to i- (s per loolbs. No dairy or store slock weii" jarded. At Papakura, on Wednesday, below an average number weie jarded ; bidding wis langaid, but nearly all lots in were disposed of. We quote: Dairy cows at fioni L 5 r,s to L 7 10s: calves, from 22s to 28s 6d ; yearlings, from 30s to L 2 2s ; iB-menth-old steers, L,2 ,s to L 2 17s 6d ; heifers, from L 2 to L 2 15s j 2-eir-old steers, \.\ to L 3 Ks ; grown steers, L 4 m L 6 25 6d. Sheep : No local sheep were n*i'nd, and the ship-borne were not in good mdition, but sold at from 12s to 16s 3d.
