SUPREME COURT, AUCKLAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.]

Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, M. Heffernan, aged 48. described aa a carpenter, was arraigned upon an indictment charging him with committing an indecent assault upon a child named Prudence Morrison, aged nine years, on the 26th December last, at Te A™ha, and to which the prisoner pleaded not guilty. After hearing the evidence, the jury found a verdict of not guilty, and the prisoner was discharged.
