MERCURY BAY REGATTA.
Oub Auckland correspondent writes :—: — " At this regatta on Tuesday the weather was most unfavorable. The , champion outrigger race attraoted attention not only in Auckland, but also in Southern New Zealand, and Australian ports. Carter won easily beating White by several lengths.' The distance run was 3£miles. At the start White led off, and his friends were momentarily induced t to think he was going to win and cheered him. Carter however quickly*overbau}ed the local favorite, and won as he pleated."
