R.M. COURT, TE AWAMUTU. Tuesday, 20th December. — [Before Captain Jackson, R.M.].
Civil Cases. Anderson v. Hutchinsou ; Mr Speed for plaintiff. This was an action to recover the value of a cow. The defendant did not Beok to make any answer to the proceedings, but stated that the animal had been sold to him at auction, having been sent for sale by Mr John Short, against whom a claim would shortly be made. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs. Bridgman v, Hugh Kelly ; Mr Gresham for plaintiff. Claim on promissory not© payable on demand. Judgment for plaintifi (£8 10s 6d), with coats, £1 17s. Gresham v. Hackett ; claim £3, instalments on a promissory note. Judgment for plaintiff ; costs, £1 3s 6d. Henry I^ewis v. Dp-vid Burns ; claim on a cheque, £2 10s. Mr Speed for defendant. The plaintiff was unable to produce the cheque, and was non-auited, with costs against plaintiff, £2 2a 6d. Several other cases were settled out of Court.
