THE CHARGE AGAIN SO TITOKOWARN.
A Press Assocation telegram dated !New Plymouth, Tuesday, states : — This afternoon Titokowam was brought up on the charge of having on the tenth of November, 1881, at a certain place within tbt> confiscated territory mentioned i» the West Coast Settlement Act, 1880, to wit Parihaka, wilfully obstructed E. W Hursthouse, and refused to leave there when requested to do po. Mr Hursthouse deposed that Titokowaru was only a visitor to Parihaka, and had no land there. Ho was called upon with others to return to his home and refused to do so. On being arrested he said to hiss people, " I thought it would come to this." E. Walter Gudgeon deposed to giving Titokowaru a copy of tho Government proclamation at Manaia, and corroborated the last witness with re-pect to the prisoner's arrest. Henry Oatea Morrison deposed that Titokowaru was very bounceible to Europeans. Prisoner was then coinmited to take hi-< trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court.
