The discovery is a reef six feet thick, showing plenty of gold, running within 30 feet of the old Tairua Company's workings; indeed, there appears to be scarcely any doubt that it is the veritable lode that shed loose gold, and, like the ignis fatuis, led the Tairua shareholders to unavailing expenditure of several thousands of pounds.
