MR WHITAKER AT OHAUPO.

Mr YVhitaker addressed the electors at Ohaupo last night. There werff^ovia* 40 electors present, and the chair was taken by Mr J. T. Edwards. Mr Whitaker spoke in reference to most of the leading questions of the day, and particularly touched upon the Representation Act and the question of direct taxation, pointing out the fairness of the towns bearing a fair quota of taxation. At the conclusion of his address, the chairman requested that any person wiio had any question* to ask would put them to the candidate, but there was no response. On the motion of Mr S. Steele, a vote of thanks and confidence' was carried without » di*> sentient voice.

Mr Johns received a vote of thanks at Cambridge West on Saturday night, a vote of confidence being lost. Mr McMinn got a vote of thanks at Te Awamutu oi> Saturday night. Mr Whyte received a vote of confidence at Cambridge last night. Fuller reports are held over.
