KIRIKIRIROA HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Public Notification.

AT A MEETING of ratepayers of the abovo district held at the Waikato County Council Chambers en Saturday, the 15th Oct., it was resolved to close a part of a road near Kiddle's Hill, and to take land with the coasent of the owner for a new road. At a meeting of the Waikato County Council held on the 23rd inst., the action of the ratepayers as above atated was confirmed and approved. In terms of Sec. 4 subsection N of the Publio Works Act, 1880, I now declare the eaid road to have been lawfully stopped, and that it shall henceforth cease to be a publio highway. Shareholders are guaranteed 7 per cent. on their investment immediately on the line being opened, made up as follows : — The land within a district of nearly 400,000 acres will be rated at 5 per cent., and a Government guarantee of 2 per cent, on the cost is provided for. This rate of interest is guaranteed for 15 years. See District Railways Act 1877, clauses 75 to 85, and Amendment Act 1878, clause 9. In addition, the Directors expect to make at least 1 per cent, more to the Shareholders by borrowing one half the cost of tho line at home at 5 per cent.
