A Bushman named Thomas Barry, residing at Great Barrier Island, died suddenly after returning home from a spree in town. He had made away with a cheque for £30 during his fortnight's stay in town. The Board of Education to-day accepted the tender of Mr Henderson, of Ngaruawahia, for additions to the Ohaupo school. The amount of the tender is £96. The Hero arrived to-day from Sydney.
Mr John Ginnon was charged with an assault ou Mr Mackay, editor of the Herald, by horsewhipping him. The Beach dismissed the case without remark.
