THE CHARGE AGAINST TITOKOWABRU. [BY TELEGRAPH -OWN CORRESPONDENT.] New Plymouth Yesterday.
Titokowaot was brought up at tho/ Police Court this morning charged by Thomas Lloyd, hotelkeeper, Manain, with having on the 12th Ootober used threaten* ing words, to the effect that he would burn down the hotel and murder ths women and children, and would set fire to Mania; also, with saying at Fortßolleileston,Parihaka, "Do you think my people would run away from such a lot of men as you have brought here.. Have the Euro* peans forgotten Tiwiuturumokai and Te-katate-omanu ? The day will yet come," or words to that effect. Mr" Standish appeared for the prosecution and applied to have Titokowaru bound over to keep the peace. Capt. Northcroft was one of the witnesses. Tito seemed quite indifferent, and he was ordered to find two securities of £500, to keep the peace for 12 months. In the meantime he will be kept in gaol till he finds securities.
