WyoUNG LORD DERBY" X Will travel in Waikato this season — Ngaruawahia Mondays Whatawhata Tuesdays Hamilton Thursdays Andersons Farm remainder of week. "Young Lord Derby" took First Prize as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1878, and First Prize as a two-year-old in 1879. He was bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kaniwhaniwha ; got by "Lord Derby," who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number of First Prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, High Bank Hill, Kyneton ; got by " Champion of Scotland," the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinburgh in 1869. He was also the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Shows in Victoria. As a Sire he was unrivalled, as five oi his stock obtained ! at two National Shows prizes of the unprecedented sum of £195 6s Bd, four £30 ! Cups, and four Medals. " Lord Derby's " | dam, "Princess Maud the 6th," gained seven Firfet Prizes. Her sire, "Prince Charlie," was many years the Champion Horse of Victoria: g. dam, "Princess Maud the 2nd," gained many prizes at ; Port Phillip and National Society's ! Shows: her sire, "Sir Colin Campbell," gained First Prize at the Highland Society's Show, 1857 5 g.g. dam, "Prince's Maud the Ist," gained First Prize at the Highland Society s Show, 1856, and i has gained First Prizes in Victoria too [ numerous to mention. "Young Lord I Derby's" dam, "Fanny," got by | "Northern Hero," out of "Queen," an imported mare from Sydney. "Young Lord Derby " is a rich dark bay, stands 17-1 hands, and has proved a sure foal getter, and a grand temper. Terms — Single mare, £3 ; two or more, as per agreement. Grazing, 2s per week. Lord Nelson is a dark bay, stands 16 hands high, with immense bone, and is very active, four years old, and is pot by the pure Clydesdale " Champion," and out of a first-class mare bred by James D.lworth, Esq. " Champion" took three first prizes at the Auckland Agricultural Society's Show in fcucces^ion, and is by the grani horse "Lofty," imported. " Lofty" never was beaten in any Show in New Zealand. " Lord Nelson" won the second pu'ze at tho Auckland Agricultural Society's Show as a yearling, and al&o second prize as a two-year old. Terms : £2 5s each mare. THE EXMOOR PONY, "NUTMEG," by Allspice, out of Lapwing, will run in a paddock at the Narrows, and serve a limited number of mare 3 this season. Nutmeg was bred by Mr J. S. Cavorhill in Canterbury, and stands thirteen hands two inches high, three years old, and a perfect model of strength and symmetry. Terms: Two sovereigns per mare, and two shillings per week grazing.
