INDISPOSITION OFTAWHIAO (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT,) Alexandra, Last Night.
Tawhiao, who has been almost bhud for some time p^ist, telegraphed to Mr T. B. Hill, at Auckland, to come to him, as he was in need of medical opinion. Mr Hill arrired last evening, and after inspecting his patient, advised an application of leeches. This remedy, fro u superstition and other reasons, was aot much fancied by Tawhuo and his friends. Mr R. Cooper, however, of G-isborue who accompanied Mr Hill, and who is a good Maori speaker came to the rescue of the medico, and succeeded in convincing Tawhiao of the necessity and haunle&s nature of the remedy. Messrs Hill and Cooper accordingly proceeded to Tawhiao's camp near the township, and applied six leeches to the great relief of the patient, who, this morning, is loud in his praisea of the knowledge of his pakeha doctor. Mr Knorpp, the Inspecting-Engineer of the North Island, was here to-day, and inspected the \arious sites of Tawhiao's proposed now bridge above the falls here.
