At the Canterbury meeting m 1876, won the Grand Stand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 sec, carrying Bst. 21bs., beating 6 others. In the same year won the Hawke's Bay Stakes, 2 miles, in 3min. 54j,sec, beating Fishhook and the Maoii Weed, carrying Bst. 2lbs. Hercules will travel on and after Ist October, calling at the undermentioned places : — Mondays — Leave Goldburn, passing through Tamaheie, Cambridge, and Pukerimu, to Ohaupo. Tuesdays — Te Awamutu, and Kihikibi. Wednesdays — Rotorangi, and Cambiidge. Thursdays — at home, where he remains for the rest of the week. Terras — £3 10s each mare, Two or ntoie as per arrangement. Rsunsay'b, Kihikihi (Mr Corboy's) that evening. Wednesday — To Awamutu, calling at Mr Ruthei ford's farm. Thursday. — Ohaupo (forenoon only), Hamilton that evening. Friday. — Hamilton, stopping at Railway Hotel ; good grazing for mares at Mr Jolly's, at 2s per week. At Tamahere that afternoon, good gracing at 2^ por week at Mr Jared All will's. Saturday.— Tamahere, and Cambridge at Caitei's Stables. He was bied by Mr Patterson, Wanganui. His sire, Wellington, is acknowledged to be oue of the fine-t horses imported to New Zealand. His dam was an imported mare from Hoba-rt Town, and, when exhibited, received every firstclass priie as a Brood Mare. " Young Wellington "• stands 17 hands in height; his colour is a beautiful dark dappled brown ; he has » wonderful ddcile temper ; has good action, and for symmetry he has not his equal in the country.
