PRESENTATION TO MR H. A. KEESING.

The Cambridge friends of Mr H. A. Keesing, on hearing of his projected departure from among them, determined on giving him a testimonial of their friendship and good wishes towards him, and in consideration of the many valuable services he has rendered as a prominent member of several of the local institutions of the place. The subscribers to the testimonial met in the Public Hall on Wednesday evening last for the purpose of meeting Mr Keesing aud wishing mm farewell. Mr I. Wells, who was called to the chair, spoke at some length of the respect which the people of Cambridge entertained towards Mr Keesing as a member of the community, and the esteem in which he was held by all, and concluded by reading the following address and presenting him with a gold albert chain and locket:— "To H. A. Keesing, Esq. Dear sir, — Having heard with great regret that you are about leaving Cambridge, the undersigned, being a few of your many friends, tender you herewith a gold albert and locket as a token of their respect and esteem, and in recognition of your many valuable services so liberally and cheerfully ren« dered to local objects. With kind fare* well, we are, yours faithfully, etc." (Here follow about 40 names). Mr Keesing, in responding, thanked the donors for the compliment bestowed on him and for their valuable present, and hoped to meet them again on many future occasions.
