MR JOHNS AT NGAHINEPOURI AND OHAUPO.

Mr William Johns addtessed the electors at Ngahinepouri on Wednesday evening. There was a fair attendance, and the chair was occupied by Mr H. Hadfield. The candidate's address was listened to with great attention and interest, and at the close a unanimous vote of thanks was carried. Mr Johns met the electors at Delaneys Hotel, Ohaupo, immediately after Hunter's sale on Thursday. There were about 50 present, and the chair was occupied by Mr Keyburn. Mr Johns explained his views at some length, dealing almost solely with those subjects touched on in his previous addresses. On the subject of local option, he said he was in favor of the principle as it affected new licenses, but not those of houses already in existence. At the close of the address, Mr Teasdale moved a vote of thanks and confidence, which was seconded by *Mr White. Mr T. G-. Sandea proposed as an amendment that a vote of thanks be accorded the candidate. This was seconded by Mr Dillon. On being put to the meeting three voted for the amendment, and about a dozen, for the motion, which was therefore declared carried. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
