McKEON FAMILY RELIEF FUND.
Pursuant to advertif>eraent in this paper, a meeting of subscribers was held in the Public HhII. Te Awamutu, on Fridaj evening lat-t, Mr J. Win^tone in th« j chair. — The chaiiman announced that tbe following amounts had been received : —Collected hy Mr Finch, Alexandra, £8 6- 6d ; Mr Corboy. Kihikihi, £15 14s 61 ; Mr Farrell, Kibikihi, ti los; Mi Empnon, Kibikihi. 10s 6d ; Mr Wiuatone. Te Awamutu, £13 lla A.C. road part), Cambiid^e, £11 11s; received on account Good Templar entertainment, £10. — Total, £64 8s 6d.— lt was stated that subscriptions to be collected would probably bring the amount up to £70 or £75. — The following proposals were uuaui mouply agmd to:— (1) "That Major Jackson, Mes-ra J Fairell and J Wiuptone be appointed trustees for the fund ;" (2; ''That Mis McKeou be paid at tin rate of ten shilling* per week an lunur as the state of the funds permit ;" (3, 11 That the trustees be empoweied to deal •with any outstanding 1 drbt-< contacted prior or subsequent to Mr MoKeon's death; 1 ' (4) "That the trustees be empowered to make special advances to Mi* McKeon in ca~e of sickness or any other emergency ;" (5) " That a vote of thanks be accorded to the pioprietors of The Waikato Times for their liberality in advertising concert and meeting free of charge." — Votes of thanks were also given to the gentlemen who had taken charge of the lists, and particularly to the AC. road party and the Good Templars for their liberal contributions to the fund. — The subscription lists are still kept open, and the trustees will be glad to receive subscriptions.
