WAIKATO - TAURANGA ROAD.
Some time ago we mentioned that a sum of £2000 had been placed on the estimates and passed for the completion of this very important work. The County Councils of riako and Tanranga acting under the advice of Mr J. B. Whyte, late member for Waikato, made application to the Government to have the money handed over to them for expenditure. The result is that the Government has agreed to do this, and the money Mill be forwarded in the course of a day or two, each Council getting £1000. This will be good news to people living on both sides of the range. Tho amount voted will we understand, be sufficient to construct a fairly practicable road, and will put us in communication with the East as well as we now are with the West Coast.
