TO THE EDITOR. Sin, — On visiting Kihikihi yesterday, I Ywi*> much distressed to see the number of children in and about thnfc township who were not attending any school in consequence of the misguided aud evil disposed men of the committee, who wish to carry out their own malicious end-*. The man Thomas is, I ara assured, only the cat'B paw to get the mits out of the fire. He is urged on by others through cliquism and sheer spite again.st many of the respectable parents. The charges again«t the teacher aio mythical, and J was really not biupused to hear that the enraged parents weic obliged to resoit to the tar and feathers on men who }>avp taken such a cowaidly part to lpvenge themselves on their childion Be it understood that the committee have no children themselves ; so they ate acting the cruel part of the unnatural mother whom Solomon of old severely tested. lam informed the committee — who were not elected by the househoUleiH— have got one man of education to join and at-sist them ; he was an official of the Grey Government, and is {latent on liberalism, but his liberalism eon-ists, ho far as I am able to make out, in trying to keep some of the rising generation in ignorance, while at the same time the State is heavily taxed for their education. — I am, <See, A Parent.
