Te Whiti declined to touch the letter, and the contents were then explained to him, upon which he remarked "Let him come, he will find no foitin'cations here," Mr Bryce, accompanied by (Jol. Roberts have proceeded to Pungarehu. The constabulary marched from Opunake to Pungarehu this rooming. The Navals in the meantime gainson Opunake. The Opanake Rifles are engaged building fortifications. There is a marked absence of natives at Opunake ju&t now. Fiom New Plymouth we learn that Major Atkinson and Captain Hulme arrived by coach from Opunake ou Thursday evening.
