There was good competition throughout the sale; prices ruled low, but full} up to Oh mpo tnirket; the greater part sold. We quote C. lives and yearlings, Lx 12s 6d to L 2 10s; 2-ye.tr-old steers, fiora ]-,3 SsN)L3 istiCid; 3-year-old steers, I 5 7s 6d to !,=; 10s ; riding imre, L 6 10s — At To Kowlwi on Wednesday, .it the sale of Mr ll.irton's stock, there was a large altendancc of bmeis, and e\er\thing sold. For the pcdigii'P cwps there was keen competition, and thej were purchased by Messrs Claude and Gardner for Lz 7s 6(1 each. '1 he two young n'edium draught mares sold for 1,2$ and L 37 respectively; aged 111 11 c, Ll3 ; riding horse, Ll4. Double-furrow plough, by Wallace, Li 7. — At the Ohaupo Yards on Thursday, October 20, there was a very l.irgc number of cattle, fully 400 head yarded. They were principally young cattle, and coarse bred. For well bred cattle there was keen competition, and neaily all cattle yarded sold. Some choice beef met keen competition, and all sold to the trade. The yards were well filled with both fat and store sheep. For stores there was no demand, and consequently remained unsold. The fat sheep being required, all sold. We quote • Cakes and yearlings, from Lt 18s 6d tol/2i2s6d; ii-year-old heifers, L 2 i<;s to L 3; 2-year-old steers, L 3 5s to I 4 2s 6d ; store cows, fiom L2IOS to L 4; 3-year-old coarse steers, to L 4 los ; fat steers, L 7 5s to Lo ; fat cows, Ls to L 7 2s 6d ; " British King" bull, Ll2 ; fat wethers ishorn), ros to 12s 3d ; ewes (shorn), 8s each.
