Mr Amrld Hucki v\d's Weekly Report.— At the Haymarket on 1-Yiday, Oct. 14, fodder was in short suppl). Oaten and meadow hay brought from 2s 6d to 4s 6d per I.U ; small loads, 20s to 355; and straw, i^i to 1 8s per load. Hie horse market was fairh filled. Active medium draught brought irom £17 to £32 ; weight-carry-ing hacks and light harness horses, £12 to £2$ ; light hacks, £6 to £11. FOl animals of a good stamp the competition w.is brisk, and with few exceptions all entered were disposed of at satisfactory prices. At the H.i) market, on Tuesday, the 18th instant, hides brought from 2\ to j^d per lb ; good sheepskins, from 4s to 5s cjd each ; wool, 7&dperlb; tallow, 21s to 23s pci cut. At the Pokeno cattle s>ale, on Monday, there was a larger muster of stock than usual, and an improved attendance. The pi ices obtained were higher than .it the larger sales. At J )rurj , on Wednesday, there was a laiger number of cattle yarded than on any prcuous occ ision. Sellers accepted the current rates freely, with the result of a slight advance in values over late markets, and all yarded being sold. At Remuera, on "Wednesday, dairy cattle were at previous \alucs, ranging from £5 5s to £0 10s. .Store rattle, in moderate numbers maintained last week's prices. Fat cittle in moderate number; 120 yarded Prices ranged from 2^s to 27s the loolbs foi good quality, but heavy ship-borne oxen were 22s the ioojbs._ Sheep abundant, but in request, and maintained their late values; v. ethers in their wool brought from 15s to 20s ; ewes, 14s to 15 (>d ; shoin wethers, 10s 6d to 12s o.d each ; stoic wethers, 14s each. Pat lambs uere plentiful, but in good demand, and brought from 10s to 18s each. Pigs unusually numerous, all classes, freely competed for, particularly joung stores. Messrs. Hum Kit & Nolw's AVoekly Report.— Horses : The improvement noted the previous week has continued, and a great many have changed hands. An unusually large number were entered for disposal by auction, at the Durham Yards. There was good competition I throughout the sale, and lots were cleared. We quote backs from £7 10s to £21; light harness horses from £ij tos to £23 ; medium draught, £22 5s to £29. Cattle: Activity has chaiactensed the market ; a good many have been brought forward and found ready purchaseis, with but trifliug alteration in value. There was a good muster at the Newmarket sale, and all descriptions were well competed fot. Prices for dairy and store stock had rather an upward tendency.
