Affghan News. Calcutta, October 17.

Telegrams are beiujr received from Afghanistan announciug that the Ameer's Turkestan army has occupied Herat, which has been evacuated by Ayoub Khan. In accordance with the announcement made at the beginning of this month, the British garrison at Quettah, in northern Beluchistan, near the Affghan frontier, has been largely reduced.
