PUKEKURA HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the tuistees of the Pukekuia Highway Board was held in the Pukerimu school on Thursday. Present : Messrs Lake (chairman), Scott, Fisher, and Allen. — The minutes ot the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the correspondence was read, including a letter from the Waipa County Council, enclosing subsidy to the amount of L 35 16s 8d. — Mr J. Gricc wrote, drawing the trustees' attention fc> the dangerous and almost impassable state of the Swamp road. — Mr Lake drew attention to the dangerous state of the embankment at Sandy Creek.— lt was proposed by Mi Allen, and seconded by Mr Fisher and carried, "That Mr Lake be empoweied to cut down a portion of the hill at Sandy Creek for the purpose of widening the embankment; also that Mr Allen to get a portion of the hill fascined near the Cambridge bridge, so as to prevent the gravel trom filling up the water channel." — It was resolved that the chauman write to the Bangioahia Highway Board >c proposed amending of boundaries, and to suggest that immediate action be taken by them ; m the event of their not doing so, that the Colonel Secietary be asked to get boundaries altered before winter, and in accordance with the petition presented. — It was resolved re the lots against which judgment was given on the 22nd April last, that advertising the same for lease be deferred till next month. — On the suggestion of Mr Scott, it was resolved " That all the members of the board meet at Mr Allens residence on Wednesday, 26th inst., at 10 a.m., to &cc what works are most urgently required to be done during the year." — Accounts amounting to L5O 12s 3d were passed for payment. — The next meeting of the board will be held on Monday, 14th November, at 6.30 p.m.
