"Young Lord Derby" took First Prize as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1878, aud First Piize as a two-year-old in 1879. He whs bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kaniw haniwha ; got by " Loid Derby," who, when a colt befoie leaving Victoria, took a number of First Prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, High Bank Hill, Kyneton ; got by " Champion of Scotland," the winner ot Fii'ht Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinburgh in 1869. Ho was also the winner several times of the Champion (Jold Medal at the piiucipal Annual Shows m Vutmia. As a Sue he was uuuvallod, as live ot his siock obtained at two National Shows prizes of the uupiecedonted sum of £195 6s B<J, four £30 C'ip-i, and four Medals. " Loid Derby's " dam, " Princess Maud the 6th," gained seven First Prizes. Her sire, "Piince Chailie," wab many yeais the Champion Horse of Victoria* g. dam, "Princess Maud tho 2nd," gained many prizes at Port Phillip and National Society's Shows: her hire, "Sir Colin Campbell," grimed Fiist Puzo at the Highland Society's Show, 1857 ; gg. dam, "Princess Maud the l&t," gained Fh\->t Prize at the Highland Society s Show, 1856, and has gained First Piizes in Victoria too numerous to mention. "Young Lord Derby's" dam, "Fanny," got by "Northern Hero," out of " Queen," an impoited mare from Sydney. "Young Lord Deiby " is a rich dark bny, stands 17-1 hands, and has proved a &ure foal gettci, and a grand temper.

Teems — Single maie, £3 ; two or more, as per agreement Grazing, 2s per week. Further particulars can be obtained from the Groom. All payments to be made on or before the fiist of January, 1882 MAEK SMITH.

Lord Nelson i.s a dark bay, stands 16 hands high, with immense bone, and is veiy active, four yeai.s old, and is s?ot by the pure Clydesdale " Champion," and out of a first-class* mare bied by James Ddworth, Ebq. " Champion" took three fiist prices at the Auckland Agricultural Society's Show in succession, and is by the grand horse "Lofty," imported. " Lofty" never was beaten in any Show in New Zealand. " Lord Nelson" won the bcoond ptizo at the Auckland Agricultural Society's Show as 11 yeailing, and alto second prize as a two-year old. Terms : £2 5s each mare.
