There was a good attendance of members. Mr Moore having lelated the particulars of the interview which he a? d Mr Isaac* as a deputation from the club had. with Mr Fanthain, on the matter of Mr Kirkwoods scheme, and other pai ticulars .i» retraida terms and conditions having been enteied into, the following resolution was moved by Mr Kirkwood : " That this meeting coiibiders it advisable that the Cambridge Jockey Club (should, take immediate steps to secure by purchase the race-course and. steeplechase-course, on Mr Fan th am' 8 farm with the grand stand. The ground consisting of, say 100 acres valued at £20 per acre, and the grand stand valued £600, the whole to be taken up in shares of £25 each, one- third cash the balance to remain at 6^ per cent per annumn. In support of his resolution Mr Kirkwood pointed out to those present the advantages which the Club would derive from the action which he advocated. They had hitherto paid £80 annually as interest on the grand stand alone, whereas in this case, though the aggregate interest amounted to about £I*2o they could have a rental of the property Avhen let for grazing purposes, of £100, which would reduce the amount they would have to pay as interest to something like £20. Every-one who invested would have ample security for his money, the land in which he became part owner being of the best obtainable quality in the district, and saleable at any time. Mr Moore seconded the resolution, which was put and carried with acclamation. This was all the business. j
