The Chairman of the Piako County Council, Mr It. H. D. Fergusson, (Cambiidge) leceived the following telegiam fiom Warden KenricK, at Te Aroha, on Thursday night last: — '-New discovery at Te Aroha promise.-* to be both important and valuable, being on the Crown Ltinds, the whole revenue comes to your council : £150 already taken. It in imperative that the tr.ick should be made by the Waiorongonaia creek to the back of the mountain where the claims are taken up. Will you authorise expenditure on this track, and if Government subsidise-* this £150."— H Kenriok.— The above was read at the meeting of the council yestprday, when it was resolved that if the money was for miners' rights the council would spend it if faubsidised by the Government.
