TO WN DISTRICTS AC T. Meeting at Alexandra.

In accbrdancs with the advertisement published m your issue of the 6th inst. a public meeting was held' At the Public Hall, ou Saturday, the Bth insfc., at 6 p.m., to consider the advisableness or othoiwise of bringing the township of Alexandra under the operation of the Town Districts Act. — A fair number of householders having gathered, Mr J. Aubin was voted to the chair. — The Chairman having explained the object of the meeting, read a few clauses of the new act, shortly commenting upon, and explaining their operation. Messrs J. Munro, bage, ' and others having taken part in the discussion, , the follow in» resolutions, duly propo-ed and seconded were unanimously agreed to " That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable to bring, the East and West township of Alexandra under the operation of the Town Districts Bill." '"That a committee, to ■ consist of Messrs Munro, Asmuss, Smith, and' Aubin, be appointed to ascertain whether (he requisite number of signatures of householders can be obtained to bring this township under the opeiation of the aforesaid bill."' A 1 vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. — (Correspondent, Oct. 10th).
