A Farmers' Club in Te Awamutu would be a benefit to the surrounding settlers that they would appreciate if they could be only induced to start one. Sevsral of the best known and most respected members of the community have expressed their opinions individually for some time as to the desirability of such an institution, but as with the suggested Agricultural Show, each one appears to be Waiting for the other to take the preliminary steps An occasional meeting of some of the inhabitants of a' rural district, if only to exchange ideas and discuss objects of general interests, is always beneficial, and in working 1 any desired improvement or giving weight to the opinion of the district on public or local matters, a Farmers' Club is a lever of considerable power. Co-operation for objects of general utility is an immense assistance to a body of men in every pursuit, and would be especially useful to the farmers of the Waipa, who might do a great deal more for their interests in common than they will ever be able to effect, individually. It is to be hoped that a fanners' club will be established at once.
