Wellington, Thursday. The Supplementary Estimates have been issned. The following are the votes of interest to the Waikato :—: — Expenses of visit of Tawhiao to Waikato, £850 ; vaccination of natives, £2000 ; sanitorinm at Ohinemutu, £3000 ; under charge to Waikato Steam Navigation Company, written off, £3 lls 9d ; deficiency in accounts of late stationmaster at Ohaupo, £18 19? sd ; military and volunteers, £1560 ; liabilities of volunteer corps for clothing, £1500 ; Volunteer Rifle Association, £500 ; drillshed Hamilton, £100 ; incidental expenses on account of Patetere block, £65 ; Ngatikainohata tribe, Waikato, £251.
Dr. Edgelow announces that he will in future dispense his own medicines at his surgery, next Qu<iltrouch and "White's shop, Hamilton. Mr R. Seccombe, of Alexandra, notifies that his first-class farm of 450 acres is for sale on easy terms. For particulars see advertisement. Mr W. Shepherd has been appointed ranger to the Newcastle Highway Board. Mr R. T. Millar, Paterangi, has on sale shipments of new season's seeds of the usual well known quality. See list. Mr Gr. W. Collins has been appointed ranger for the Cambridge Highway District. The sale of the late Major Hay's property in Cambridge is postponed till Monday, 10th October. The new pure cash system now being initiated by G. and C. will certainly prove a. benefit to the • public. It has been a great success in Sydney and Melbourne and when strictly carried _ out the customer who buys at an establishment where the goods arc marked low to ensure a rapid sale must be a great gainer. G. and C. sell their drapery millinery, and clothing at such prices for cash as gives the buyer the advantages of a shareholder in a co-operative society, without the i isk of being called upon to / bear i aportion.ofthc loss should the year's business prove unsatisfactory. Garlick and Cranwell will aim to retain the confidence which the public h,ave hitherto shown them, and are determined to give the pure cash system a fair trial; .whether, they gain orjose the first* year.
