A NEW SUBURBAN TOWNSHIP FOR CAMBRIDGE.
The developments of Cambridge of late have far superseded the anticipations of not only the early settlers of the place, but those of a later date. For the past year shop after shop and house after house have been erected, and it would seem as if this line of business was on the increase rather thin the decline. Messrs Maclean and Co. have just engaged Mr G. F. Hosking, C.E., to lay off a suburban township for Cambridge on their property to the east of Cambridge, and one mile from the new Anglican Church. Thornton Road (the road to Maungakawa), will pass through the middle of the new township, which will be named St. Kdda. The suburban district of St. Kilda will comprise 300 acres of land, which will shortly be cleared for the purpose for which it ia intended. It will be cut up intooneand five-acre allotments, ploughed and laid down in grass. Mr Hosking has already commenced surveying operations, and before long will have his task completed.
