Wellington, Thursday. The House met at H a.m. The Premier moved the adjournment of the House till -'7.'30/ on account "of the death of Mr Moorhouse, so that members might be enabled to attend the funeral procession to the wharf. i The motion was seconded by Sir George Grey and supported by Mr Macaudrew, who stated that deceased and himself were the only members of that Parliament who had been members of the first Parliament of New Zealand. The motion was carried. In reply to a question it was stated that the Government had under consideration the question of what relief can be provided under the railway tariff to exporters of produce. In the case of live stock, trucks had been provided that would carry double the number of sheep, and in that way a material saving would be secured to exporters of that description of live stock. The Law of Divorce Amendment Bill was considered in Committee, and amended by the addition of a clause making desertion for a period of seven years constitute a divorce. It was then read a third time and passed. The Neglected and Criminal, Children's Act Amendment and the Dentists Act Amendment were also read a third time and passed. The report of the Conference on the Licensing Bill was brought up and agreed to. The Medical Practitioners'' Society Bill and the New Plymouth High School Bill were thrown out. Several other bills were advanced a stage. Wellington', Last Night. After 1.30 the Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Bill p.issed through Committee and the Miners Right Reduction Bill was thrown out, a motion that the Chairman leave the chair being carried by 12 to 9. In Committee, on Gisborne's longstanding motion for an address for a subsidy of £6000 to public libraries, attention being called to the fact that there was not a quorum present, the fact was reported to the Speaker, and the bell having again failed to bring a quorum, the House was counted out at 3 o'clock.
