After some debate, in. which. Major Atkinson, regretted that a bill to establish a partly elected , Board of Control could not be introduced this year, . Mr Andrews moved, "That the management of .the Department should be under the control of a Board nominated equally by the Crown and elected by the policy-holders. This amendment was afterwards with* drawn, and thereafter ,the option as amended was put and carried. The House adjourned at 4.30.
