Wellington, Last Night. The inhabitants of Whatawhata are interested in noting the following information : — For land taken up at Raglan and since included in the native reserve, it is proposed under the Special Powers and Contracts Bill how belore Parliament to issue a Crown grant to Patrick Oorboy for lots 128 a. 13, and 210, parish of Pukete, district of Auckland, containing 255 acres 3 roods, more or less, the grant to be subject to the Crown Grant Act 1566 and the Act amending the same, and not to be issued until the Land Boaul of Auckland report to the Governor that the requirements of the sections and sub-sections to the appendix of the Land AcL 1877 have been complied with. This proposal, which has been made in virtue of, a recommendation from the Auckland Waste Lands Board, is creating apprehension in the minds of those interested until the equities of the case have been more fully understood.
