Mr Rolleston moved the re-committal of the East Coast Land Districts Bill for the purpose of re-instatiug clau&e 2, which had been struck out in Committee. Without it the bill would be usaless. If it was re-instated, he would take care that the East Coast District was fairly represented oil the Napier Board. Mr Moss strongly objected to the attempt to reverbo the deliberate decision of the Committee and take the East Coast District out of the operation of the liberal Auckland land laws, to put it under the illiberal Hawlte's Bay Regulations. He moved that progress be reported. Mr McDonald objected to the district being allocated to Hawke's Bay. Mr Rolleston said 'he • was willing to report progress in order to enable Mr McDonald to become better acquainted with the wish or his constituents. Progress ■ waß reported. ■ , The Pensions Bill. ' A message was received from the Council insisting on its' amendment in the Pensions Bill.
