HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. YESTERDAY'S SITTING. The House assembled at 9.30. The Order of Business.

Mr Hall stated that 'in {accordance with a promise made at the end of last week he could now state the measures on the Order Paper which were proposed to be pushed on this session and those which would . be dropped. Of the former, he named the Inspection of Machinery ; Employment of Females ; Volunteers ; Public Works ; Friendly Societies ; Companies ; Fisheries, and other bills. The* Publi<| Works Bill he jb^liey^d was doubtful, and' although they ekpected to get it passed, its actual passage would depend upon the length of the discussion. The. Friendly -Societies and , Companies 'Bill/ 'unless strongly opposed" iiv 'Committee, would be passed. The Hospitals and Charitable Aid Bill was a useful measure which would again have to be dropped ; also the Roads Construction and Crown and f^ative Lands Rating Bill. The Sharebrokers Act Repeal and Patents Acts Amendment Bill would also have to be 1 dropped.' The Town Districts and Counties Act Suspension Bills he hoped to be able to pass, and unless serious opposition was offered, they would succeed in doing so. It had been suggested to refer the Corrupt Practices Prevention Bill to a Select Committee. Government would be able to state definitely to-morrow what was proposed to be done with it. The Government expected to get through, the Estimates during this week, and if hon. members would condense their remarks on the various measures, he hoped the prorogation might take place about the middle of next week.

Thermal Springs. The Thermal Springs District Bill was further committed and passed through committee and reported with amendments, which were agreed to. The bill was read' a third time and passed.

Other Bills Passed. The -Native Lands Fraud Prevention Bill and Native Successions Bills were considered in Committee, reported with amendments, read a third time and passed. The House adjourned at 5.30.
