The House resumed at 7.30. Town Districts Bill. On the questioiTfor committal of the Town Districts Bill for Monday, Mv Seddon moved that it be that day week. Mr Pyke moved that it be committed that day six months. The question that the bill be committed on Monday was carried ; ayes, 45 ; noes, 15. Railways Construction BilL On the motion for "going into Com. mittee on the Railway Construction and Land Bill, Mr Murray took exception to the bill, expatiating at length on the danger of allowing these works to be constructed by & company, and submitting an elaborate scheme of his own. The motion for going into Committee was then put a#d earriecL Clausess \\ «n,d 12^ powers to exact
security. — Mr Hall said in deference to the opinions of members well veraed in these matters, he proposed to omit these clauses. After discussion, clause 11 was allowed to stand. Clause 12 was retained as printed on a division by 30 to 20. (Left sitting).
