Wellington, Last Night. The House met at 3 30. Adjournment. Mr Hall's motion that the House on rising a J joura to 1 i o'clock on Monday was carried. Questions. Replying to questions put, it was stated the Government expected to be in a position to say on Monday what measures would be dropped, and give other information regarding the order of the business. The subject of the leduction of salary for future Governors was under consideration, but the Government did not expect the question would be settled by the end of the session. Civil Service Commission. Mr Bunny called attention to the fact that of a total cost of £619 for Civil Service Commission, £338 had been paid to Mr Pharazyn, one of the members of that Commission, a large amount being set down as special allowance. He desired to know the reason for this special allowance being paid. Major Atkinson promised that the information asked for would be giren. Bills Advanced. The following bills were read a second time :—Railway: — Railway Authorization : Thermal Springs; Westland and Nelson Coalfields ; Administration ; Special Powers and Controls ; Public Healths Act 1878 Amendment; Town Districts. The Public Domains Bill was read a third time aud passed. The following bills were passed through Committee, and read a third time and passed ; — Timsra Water Reserves ; and Rabbit Nuisance Act Amendment. The House adjourned at 5.30.
