Board Meetings. On Saturday, the 27th inst., the first meeting of the Puniu Domain Board was held, at which there were presentMessrs Walton, Corboy, Bond, and Johns, Mr Walton being appointed chairman. It was resolved that the next meeting should be held on the last Saturday in September, and that in the meantime the chairman was to act in all cases in which the Hoard has authority. It was also resolved that until new regulations were made, settlers might purchase timber on the same terms as were agreed to by the Rangiaohia Road Board. The Rangiaohia Road Board aho held a meeting, the members being the same as constituted the meeting above mentioned. It was stated that some time ago the Board applied to the Crown Lands Board for a bush reserve in Ohaupo, numbered lot 330, for the benefit of the settlers in that portion of the district, and that the application was granted. Since then the County Council have resolved to ask the Crown Lands Board to vest the reserve in the Council, to which arrangement the Rangiaohia Road Board cannot agree, as having applied for the reserve for the special benefit of the settlers in that portion of the district, they object to the Council having the power to apply the benefit derivable from it out of the district altogether, and they therefore resolved that it should be applied to the purpose for which it was reserved, and in that locality only. Several repairs were ordered to the Rangiaohia bridge and to the Orakau and Ohaupo- Alexandra road, and payment of some accounts being ordered, the business was concluded. Murderous Assault.
