WAIKATO CATTLE MARKET.

Mi ssrs W. J. HuNri R & Co. report :— At the Frankton Yatds, Hamilton, on Wednesday, August 17th, we hold our first Spring Sale. The number of rattle jarded far cvreeded expectations, and thu Yards were found inadequate to -iceomnwdare all brought fofward. August 18th, there was a large number of cattle of all descriptions yarded. The attendance of bujers was not large, many taktnc advantage of fine weather for ploughing. _ The cattle jarded were generally of low condition, and many coarsely bred. There was keen competition throughout the sale for all classes, and but few remained unsold.' We quote:— Dairy rows, L 6 15s to L8; dry cows, L 3 to L 4 7s 6d ; weaned calves, L 2 to L 2 17s 6d; jearlinßS, from 1,215s to L 3 10s; well-bred 2-ycai-old steers, L 5 ; 3-year-old steers, L 5 10s to L 5 17s 6d; tat (o\vs and heifers, L 5 to LC as 6d ; 2-year-old heifers, Lj 10s to I 4 ; fat wethers, from 15s to «8s each.
