[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATIO N .] The New Plymouth Harbour.
New Plymouth, Last' Night.' A meeting of the Working Men's Society was held on Saturday, at which over 200 men wete present. - It was resolved to send a petition to the Hou^e and the Legislative Uouncil asking that the harbour works be not stopped during the inquiry to be made by the Royal Commission. The petition was signed by 600 men. Meetings are being held tonight at Bell Block, Okeato, Oakura, Omata, Manutahi, Tikoranp'i, and Inglewood, by owners of land at Manaia Stratford, and Ngaire, to consider the haibour question.
