Mi ssns Gor dshroi'oh report, unlcr date Melbourne, Victoria, August ist, js follows:— Wool. — We Lave nothing of importance toreport in this market, owing to the limited <irri".iK, which, as usual ,it this season of the year, consist of miscellaneous lots of Greasy, and small parcels of Scoured, from country fellmongcrs. Uiout 500 b ile» have changed hands during the month, principally private sales, at prices fully equal to Lite quotations. The local demand still continues, and no difficulty is experienced in disposing of .ill coming' forward. We learn that the next series of London AVool Sales will commence on the 23rd inst., with a probable avail iblc quantity of 3:50,000 bales, and we tru-.t th.it the firmer tendency observable for most \ustralian descriptions towards the close of the last series will be maintained. The present st.ite of the home trade, however, is not suffi- < icntly buoyant to warrant much adxance in \alurs. Prices Current. — Greasy— lnferior, 6d to 8d; Oidinary to a\crage, 8d to iod; Good to superior, 11 dto is id. Fleece, washed— lnferior, lid to is id; Ordinary to aveiage, is 21] to is 5d ; Aveiage to pood, is 5d to is 8d ; Superior, is gd to 2s. .Scoured— lnferior, is to is 2d ; Ordinal}, is id to is 6d , Middling to good, is 6d to is od; Superior, is od to 2s. Sheepskins. — A good inquiry has existed throughout the p.-tst month — Butchers' Green Merinos, of extra size and quality, 6s 6d to 6s od each ; Hatchers' Green Skins, superior, 6s to 6s 6d each ; do. do. do., a\erage, 3s to 6d each ; do. Dry do., superior, 5s to 6d e.ich ; do. do. dc, .uengc, js to 5s carh ; Dry Skins, in bales and bundles, superior, <jd to6^d per lb ; a\cragc, 3d to sd per lb. Hides.- A. weak demand lias piev.iilcd, and we ha\c found great difficulty 111 plat ing any but superior lots satisfactorily. Shipments from other colonies h.nc been few, the low prices ruling probabl) having kept back the usual supplies. We ha\e sold .1 few parcels .it the following quotations' — New Zealand heavies, .)Jd to l|d per lb ; bjdney and Adelaide heavies, ad to 4jd pei lb. Tallow. — Mutton, from £27 10s to £20 10s per ton : Reef, £26 10s to £27 10s do. ; Mixed, £23 to £28 10s do ; Inferior, £17 to £23 do. Shipping part els, of favourite brands — Mutton, to £30 per ton (t.o.b ) ; Beef, to £28 do. (f.o.b. Monthly Giain Report —Wheat. Owing to the limited quantity now coming forward, the auction sales continue irregular ; and this being the dullest period of the jear, we have littlo of interest to report. We quote : — Prime Milling, ss to ss id; medium to good, 4s iod to js ndjd; and interioi to medium, fs 3d to 4s gd per bushel —I 1I 1 lour : Good country brands realise from £10 i<!S 6d to ;£to 15s, .and town-milled, £11 i*js sterling per ton. — Bran remains firm «it 123 d, and Pollard at 13d per bushel. — Oats: 1 his market < ontinues firm at about late rates. We quote : — Prime Milling, 3s 7d; prime Feed, 3s sd; medium to good, 3s 3d to 3s 4Jd ; and inferior to medium, is to 3s ajd per bushel.— Barley : Although the quantity coming forward from the country districts is on a \ery small scale, prices do not improve, which is no doubt owing to the local maltsters being fully supplied for sometime to come. We quote : — Prime Malting, 3s 6d ; medium to good, is |d to }s s^l , infcnoi to medium, 3s 2(1 to fs 3^d; and Feed sorts, from 3s to 3s 2jd per bushel.
