SINGULAR ACCIDENT.

A man named Craig, a rope-maker, employed by Mr Bell at his mill at Church - hill, was nearly burned to death on Sunday night. It appears Craig went to bed in a state of intoxication, and by some means or other, whether by accident or design, his bed-clothes got on fire and the unfortunate man was almost burned to death. He was found next morning horribly charred, and hopes of his recovery were almost given up. Mr Bellj however, lost no time in sending a telegram to Dr Edgelow, of Hamilton, who promptly proceeded to Churchlnll by yesterday morning's 1 train. No later particulars concerning Craigs condition are to , hand.
