Auckland, Last Night.
The Auckland Timber Company have declared a dividend of 10 par cent. No tenders have been received for the tramway in Auckland. The City Council have resolved to memoraliae the Government to pass a bill enabling the inspection of dairies. At the annual meeting of the racing club the secretary presented the balancesheet for the last year, from which it appeared th.it the receipts had amounted to JEI-i'26, and expenditure, £1002, leaving a balance of £i2i credit, the statement, of the absetß liabilities showed th t the latter amounted to £5311, including a loan of £5000 and former to £8013 of which the largest item was the racecourse of £<5500. The auditor reported th.it the balance and income and expenditure account was not so favorable as last year by £330, but this was caused not by any decrease in the prosperity of the cltib'.s operations, but in consequence of increased liberality to proprietors of horses. Messrs Russell, Georyre, Marks. S. Morrin, Khkwood, mid McLauglin were elected a committee. Mr Walter Paul, a farmer at Man mare, was fined l'2s 6d and costs for not having dipped his scabby sheep a second time as requited by the Inspector. A fund is bein<r raised to guarantee the expenses of a visit of Tawhiao to Auckland. Mr Firth headed the li&t with £20.
